Mondottica awarded silver accreditation by Investors in The Environment

As a result of the work being done by all the sustainability groups in Mondottica, we have been externally audited and been awarded silver accreditation by Investors in the Environment for 2024

Within the iiE structure to achieve Silver level accreditation, Mondottica were required to continue to develop on our Bronze award and implement our Environmental Management System, using the iiE framework to put forward a range of actions and projects that will support continual improvement in resource and carbon management.

These are the highlight notes of the audit

“Due to the efforts of the Green Champion, Mondottica has succeeded in getting an electricity measured and data recorded at the London site enabling them to start measuring actual consumption from January 2024 . Also, the Nottingham site has moved to a Zero Carbon Electricity tariff.”

“Mondottica added some hybrid vehicles to their fleet in November 2023 which, though introduced at the very tail end of the year, has already resulted in a small decrease in miles measured for this resource. More vehicles were added in March 2024 so we should see even greater impact for 2024. Importantly, this also demonstrates Mondottica is focusing on where it can have the greatest impact – Fleet Transport contributed the largest percentage of their carbon footprint in last year’s audit.”

“Sterling efforts on improving the management of POS (Point of Sale) materials both from a change of materials perspective and from the volumes created, resulting in much less waste to landfill and an increase in recycling. The fact that this was accompanied with a communications programme makes it powerful and demonstrates the thoroughness with which the sustainability team drive through change.”

“Mondottica have introduced recycled renew frames into the market which is a new area. Again, this has been accompanied by education and support to help customers better understand their frame selection at point of purchase via Eastman partnership and presentations to the Commercial teams.”

“Both of theses projects demonstrate that Mondottica is working with suppliers to influence positive change. This is imperative for long term success and tackling Scope 3 emissions”

This is a great achievement for everyone who has been involved in the sustainable project groups up to this point, but is also a continuing journey.
